Sclerotium gum

Sclerotium gum is a natural gum, derived from the genus sclerotium fungus. It comes in the form of a powder which, when in contact with water, swells to form a viscous and stringy gel. Natural gums are used as a texture agent, to give more viscosity to cosmetic preparations. This has the effect of helping to maintain the intimate mixtures between water and oil in the product.
