Glycerin
Glycerin, also known as glycerol, is a synthetic compound inspired by living. It is obtained from various fats, usually vegetables, by saponification (a reaction allowing to obtain a soap). In cosmetics, glycerin is used in many products for its strong moisturizing and emollient properties. Applied to the skin or hair, it forms a very thin occlusive film that protects against aggressions. Perfect for pre-shave lotions and hair products! Finally, it brings viscosity to formulas. Totally biodegradable, it is a compound that respects health and the environment. All these properties make glycerin a formulation superstar, present in a very, VERY wide range of products.
