Tocopherol
Tocopherol is the scientific name for vitamin E. It is a super oil-soluble antioxidant, which helps protect the fatty substances in your cosmetic product against oxidation. Oxidation is a degradation reaction which takes place in the presence of oxygen, and therefore in contact with air. Concretely, this means that after the first opening, your product begins to oxidize irremediably, until it becomes rancid (like butter).
The role of tocopherol (vitamin E) is to delay this process as much as possible, so that you can use your product for as long as possible! It is therefore a type of preservative, 100% natural, and which is also good for your skin :)
