Coco-caprylate is an oil resulting from the esterification between caprylic acid and coconut vegetable oil. It can also come from certain other oils, such as palm oil for example. This active ingredient is known for its emollient function, and is often presented as an excellent alternative to volatile silicones. Liquid substance and slightly yellowish color, it has a particularly strong biocompatibility with the skin, allowing it to penetrate the epidermis quickly. Very often found in products intended for body care, it helps restore hydration to the skin, while maintaining its softness and suppleness. Unlike conventional oils, this ester does not cause any greasy feeling on the skin, but rather leaves it feeling velvety.
